Petty Officer 3rd Class Louis Petrich attended basic training at Ferragut, ID and went to Boston for PT boat training.
He was sent to New Guinea and to the Philippines as a Radioman on a PT 77. He served in the Philippines until 1945.
He was proud to have shaken the hand of President John F. Kennedy who served on PT 107.
