Louis W. Marolt of Gilbert was inducted into the Army on Dec. 13, 1943.
He was a Sergeant and rifle non-commissioned officer with Company K, 397th Infantry Regiment, 100th Infantry Division in the Rhineland and Central Europe. He was wounded in action in January 1945.
He was awarded the: Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman Badge, Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle East Campaign Medal with two bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal and three overseas service bars.
He was discharged on April 25, 1946, Camp McCoy, Wis.
