Louis J. Russ

Louis J. Russ of Soudan, Minnesota was inducted into Army on Feb. 26, 1943.

He was a Private First Class and truck driver with Company B, 863rd Engineer Aviation Battalion in New Guinea, Southern Philippines (Liberation), and Luzon.

He received the: Meritorious Service Unit Citation, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Service Medal with 3 bronze battle stars, Philippine Liberation Medal, World War II Victory Medal, and 4 Overseas Service Bars.

He was discharged on Dec. 6, 1945.
