Leston D. Smith

Leston D. Smith entered the Army National Guard on February 10, 1941. Home at entry: Nashwauk, Minnesota.

He had two years and seven months of prior service in the U,S. Army.  He served as a Master Sergeant and Sergeant Major with Headquarters Battery of the 458th Parachute Field Artillery Battalion in the Central Europe Campaign.

He received the following: Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with one bronze battle star, and World War II Victory Medal.

He was honorably discharged on October 16, 1945, at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
