Leonard Niemi

Leonard Niemi entered the Army on Aug. 7, 1942.

He was a Technician 5th Grade and a carpenter with the 391st Engineer Company (Depot) in New Guinea, Southern Philippines, and Luzon.

Mr. Niemi was awarded the: Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Service Medal with 3 bronze battle stars, Philippine Liberation Medal with 2 bronze stars, World War II Victory Medal, and 5 overseas service bars.

He was discharged Dec. 8, 1945.
