He was awarded the following: Combat Infantryman Badge, Silver Star Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with two bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal, three overseas service bars, Bronze Arrowhead, and Philippine Liberation Medal with two bronze stars.
He was honorably discharged December 17, 1945 at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
