Leo V. Manners of Virginia, Minnesota was inducted into the Army on July 21, 1944.
He was a Private First Class and tank crewman and cannoneer with the 19th Tank Battalion, serving in the Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe campaigns.
He was awarded the: European-African-Middle East Campaign Medal with three bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal and two overseas service bars.
He was discharged on Jan. 12, 1946 at Camp McCoy, Wis.
