Leo F. Gwash of Virginia, Minnesota, was inducted into the Army on March 10, 1942 at Fort Snelling, Minn.
He served as a Technician 4th Grade and cook with the 1585th Ordnance Service and Maintenance Company in Rome-Arno, Italy.
Mr. Gwash was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Distinguished Unit Citation, European-African-Middle East Campaign Medal, American Campaign Medal and three overseas service bars.
He was honorably discharged Nov. 14, 1945 at Camp McCoy, Wis.
