SCOTT, Lawrence William

Lawrence William Scott was born on December 4th 1915 to William Henry &  Angeline [Cote] Scott of Duluth, Minnesota.

Mr. Scott enlisted in the U.S. Navy on July 6th 1943 serving during World War II. On February 8th 1944, he graduated from the Naval Training School in St. Louis, Missouri.

He was granted eligibility for petty officer ratings of Electrician’s Mate 3rd Class (EM3c). On March 12th 1944, his rank was Fireman 1st Class.(FM1c). He was assigned to the USS LSM-129.

EM Scott was honorably discharged on March 13th 1946 as an EM2c

Mr. Scott died on March 6th 1995 in Duluth at 79 years of age. He is buried at Calvary Cemetery in Duluth.

“Two Duluth men were granted eligibility to qualify for petty officer ratings of electrician’s mate third class at graduation exercises held the week of Feb. 8 at the naval training school, St. Louis, Mo. They are Lawrence W. Scott, soon of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Scott, 102 Michigan street, and Henry Brand, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Brand, 1329 East Second street. Both are firemen first class.”
