Lawrence O. Lappi of Makinen, Minnesota was inducted into the Army on September 16, 1942 at Fort Snelling, Minn.
He was a Private First Class and a rigger with Company B, 316th Engineer Battalion in Rome-Arno, North Apennines and Po Valley, Italy.
Mr. Lappi received the: Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle East Campaign Medal with two bronze battle stars, American Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal and two overseas service bars.
He was honorably discharged on November 11, 1945 at Camp McCoy, Wis.
