Lawrence James Menelli

Lawrence James Menelli enlisted in the Regular Navy on August 14, 1940. Home at entry: Mountain Iron, Minnesota.

He served as a Gunner's Mate 1st Class aboard the USS Savannah, USS Aurelia (AKA 23), and USS Sanborn (APA 103) in the European Theater, Pacific Theater, and continental U.S. stations.

Mr. Menelli was awarded the following: Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with one bronze battle star, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with three bronze stars and World War II Victory Medal.

He was honorably discharged August 16, 1946, at Shoemaker, California.
