Larry Sidney Cuffe served in World War II in the Pacific Theater.
Mr. Cuffe joined the U.S. Army on October 1, 1946. He was a military policeman assigned to the Army of Occupation in Japan at the end of World War II. He was discharged on May 25, 1947.
Mr. Cuffe’s rank was Private 1st Class.
Mr. Cuffe was decorated with the WWII Victory Medal, the Army of Occupation Medal (Japan), and a lapel button.
On August 4, 1950, Mr. Cuffe joined the Army Reserve. He attained the rank of Colonel. He was discharged on August 3, 1953. He joined the Minnesota Army National Guard on June 2, 1958, and was discharged on June 1, 1961. He joined the and was assigned to B Company, 2nd Battalion, 194th Armor Regiment. He attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was discharged on June 1, 1963.
Beginning in 1971, Mr. Cuffe served three years in the Minnesota Air National Guard, assigned to the 148th Air Wing in Duluth, Minnesota, and was discharged on February 5, 1974, with the rank of Technical Sergeant. He enlisted with the Minnesota Air National Guard on February 6, 1974, and was assigned to the Air Reserve Personnel Center in Denver, Colorado. He was discharged on February 1, 1984 with the rank of Master Sergeant.
Mr. Cuffe was born in 1927 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He graduated from Virginia (Minnesota) High School in 1941.
