Kurt E. Koehler was inducted into the Naval Reserve on July 14, 1943.
He was a Motor Machinist's Mate 3rd Class and submarine auxiliary man. He served at submarine bases in the continental United States and aboard the submarines USS Shark, USS Brill (SS 330), and USS Rasher (SS 269) in the Pacific Theater.
Mr. Koehler received the: Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, American Campaign Medal, Philippine Liberation Medal with one bronze star and World War II Victory Medal.
He was honorably discharged on July 10, 1946 in Maryland.
