Knute G. Nystrom

Knute G. Nystrom of Aurora, Minnesota was inducted into the Army on September 26, 1942.

He was a Technician 4th Grade and an artillery mechanic with Battery A of the 898th Field Artillery Battalion, serving in Sicily, northern France, the Rhineland, Ardennes, and Central Europe.

Mr. Nystrom received the: Bronze Star Medal, Distinguished Unit Citation, European-African-Middle East Campaign Service Medal with six bronze battle stars and bronze service arrowhead, World War II Victory Medal and four overseas service bars.

He was discharged on October 11, 1945.
