Kenneth W. Ensele (Speed) entered the Navy on June 6, 1941, in Portland, Ore.
He served as a Chief Radio Technician and radioman/radarman aboard the USS Trever in Guadalcanal and Tulagi. Attended advance training in radar and Radio Material School in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Ensele was awarded the Navy Unit Commendation for the USS Trever outstanding heroism in action while attached to Mine Squadron 2 operating against Japanese forces in support of the Solomon Islands campaign.
He was honorably discharged on October 4, 1945.
