Kenneth S. Lerfald was inducted into the Army on May 9, 1942.

He was a Private First Class with Company E in the 147th Infantry Regiment in Guadalcanal, Northern Solomons and Iwo Jima.

Mr. Lerfald received the: Combat Infantryman Badge, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with three bronze battle stars and World War II Victory Medal.

He was honorably discharged on December 5, 1945 at Camp McCoy, Wis.
