LOFALD, Kenneth Millard
Kenneth M. Lofald was born on May 26th 1926 to Millard Norwin & Mabel M [Witte] Lofald in Duluth, Minnesota.
Mr. Lofald enlisted in the U.S. Army on September 4th 1944.
He was a truck driver with the 58th Quartermaster Sales Company in Rhineland and Central Europe. He rose to the rank of Private First Class (PFC).
PFC Lofald earned the following merits for his service:
- Bronze Star Medal,
- Combat Infantryman Badge,
- Good Conduct Medal,
- European-African-Middle East Campaign Medal with 2 bronze battle stars,
- Army of Occupation Service Medal (Germany), -and-
- World War II Victory Medal.
He was discharged on July 16th 1946 at Fort Sheridan, Illinois.
After the war he returned home and married Maryann May [Anderson] Lofald and they started a family.
He reenlisted and served during the Korean War.
Mr. Lofald died August 7th 1995 in Duluth, Minnesota at the age of 69years old. He is buried at Bethany Cemetery in Duluth.
