Kenneth C. Laukkonen of Eveleth, Minnesota was inducted into the Army on July 24, 1943.
He was a Private First Class and a rifleman with Company A in the 323rd Infantry Regiment in the South Philippines (Liberation) and western Pacific. He was wounded in action on November 9, 1944.
He received the: Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman Badge, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with two bronze battle stars, Philippine Liberation Medal with one bronze star, World War II Victory Medal and three overseas service bars.
He was honorably discharged on February 4, 1946 at Camp McCoy, Wis.
