Joseph A. Wozniak was inducted into the Army on June 26, 1941, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Orr, Minnesota.
He served as a Sergeant and tank mechanic with Company H of the 33rd Armored Regiment in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, and Rhineland campaigns. He was wounded in action near St. Lo, France, on July 11, 1944.
Mr. Wozniak was awarded the Purple Heart, American Defense Service Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with four bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal, and three overseas service bars.
Mr. Wozniak was honorably discharged on May 29, 1945, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota.
