He served as a Technician 5th Grade and half-track driver transporting rifle squads with Company B of the 54th Armored Infantry Battalion in Central Europe (France, Luxembourg), Rhineland, and Ardennes campaigns.
Mr. Walsh was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, American Defense Service Medal, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with three bronze battle stars, and World War II Victory Medal.
He was honorably discharged on October 23, 1945, at Fort Custer, Michigan.
