Joseph N. Riley was inducted into the Army on May 30, 1942 and was a corporal.
After graduating Officer Candidate School, he was commissioned a Captain. He served with the Corps of Engineers as an aviation engineer unit officer with the 858th Engineer Aviation Battalion in the China-Burma-India Theater, during the Northern Burma and China Offensive.
Mr. Riley was awarded the: Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Service Medal with 2 bronze battle stars, American Campaign Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal.
He was released from active duty on March 15, 1946.
