Joseph M. Samargia

Joseph M. Samargia was inducted into the Army on February 20, 1942 at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Gilbert, Minnesota.

He served as a Corporal and gunner with Med. Artillery wth Battery A of the  80th Field Artillery Battalion in New Guinea and Luzon.

He received the following: Good Conduct Medal, Bronze Arrowhead, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with two bronze battle stars, American Campaign Medal, Philippine Liberation Medal with one bronze star, World War II Victory Medal, and four overseas service bars.

He was honorably discharged on November 16, 1945 at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
