Joseph J. Krall was inducted into the Army in February 7, 1941, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Greaney, Minnesota.
He served as a Sergeant and a section leader with the 899th Tank Destroyer Battalion in Tunisia, North Africa; Naples-Foggia, Italy; Normandy, Northern France, and Rhineland. He was wounded in action on July 20, 1944, in the European Theater of Operation.
Mr. Krall was awarded the: Purple Heart, Presidential Unit Citation, Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with five bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal and four overseas service bars.
He was honorably discharged on June 28, 1945, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota.
