Joseph G. Perpich of Carson Lake, Minnesota enlisted in the Army Air Corps on Jan. 15, 1942.
He was a Staff Sergeant and an aircraft crew chief with Squadron K, 128th Army Air Forces Base Unit: serving in Tunisia in North Africa and Sicily and Naples-Foggia in the Italian campaign.He was wounded in action.
Mr. Perpich received the: Purple Heart, Air Medal with seven Oak Leaf Clusters, Distinguished Unit Citation, European-African-Middle East Campaign Service Medal with three bronze battle stars, and the World War II Victory Medal.
He was discharged on Sept. 9, 1945.
