Joseph G. Gobats of Virginia, Minnesota, was inducted into the Army on October 26, 1942 at Fort Snelling, Minn.

He served as a Technician 4th Class and auto mechanic with Headquarters Company of the 34th Battalion of the 112th Infantry Regiment in the Pacific Theater.

Mr. Gobats was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal and five overseas service bars.

He was honorably discharged November 17, 1945 at Fort Snelling, Minn.
