Joseph F. Cvar of Chisholm, Minnesota was inducted into the Army on Feb. 17, 1941.

He served at the rank of technician 4th grade as a bandsman with the 6th Infantry Division Band in New Guinea and Luzon.

American Campaign Service Medal,
American Defense Service Medal,
Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Service Medal,
Philipppine Liberation Medal with one bronze star,
World War II Victory Medal.

He was honorably discharged on Nov. 6, 1945.
