Joseph A. Draskovich of Eveleth, Minn. was inducted into the Army on May 30, 1942 at Fort Snelling, Minn.
He served as a Private First Class and a light truck driver of a 2 1/2 truck towing a 40 mm guns for Battery A of the 435th Anti-Aircraft Automatic Weapons Battalion in North Apennines, Italy.
He was wounded in action in Italy on Sept. 24, 1944.
Mr. Draskovich was awarded the Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle East Campaign Medal with one bronze battle star, and two overseas service bars.
He was honorably discharged on Aug. 18, 1945.
