John W. Oberstar

John W. Oberstar entered the Army on November 9, 1942, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Chisholm, Minnesota.

He served as a Technician 5th Grade with Headquarters Company of Combat Command B of the 16th Armored Division in Rhineland, Ardennes, and Central Europe.

Mr. Oberstar was awarded the following: Bronze Star Medal, Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with three bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal two aand overseas service bars.

He was honorably discharged October 23, 1945, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
