Mr. Nynas was awarded the following: Bronze Star Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with one bronze battle star, World War II Victory Medal, Army of Occupation Medal (Japan) and three overseas service bars.
He was honorably discharged on October 31, 1946, at Fort Sheridan, Illinois.
