MOLICK, John

John Molick was born on July 10th 1922 to Mike & Mandy [Butkovich] Molick in Hardburly, Kentucky. The family emigrated to northern Minnesota.

Mr. Molick was inducted into the U.S. Army on October 26th 1942 out of Buhl, Minnesota.

He served as a truck driver with Company A in the 316th Engineer Battalion in Rhineland, Ardennes and Po Valley, Italy. He rose to the rank of Private First Class (PFC). He spent some time in hospital in the line of combat.

PFC Molick erned the folling merits during his service:

  • European-African-Middle East Campaign Service Medal with three bronze battle stars,
  • World War II Victory Medal,  -and-
  • two overseas service bars.

 

He was honorably discharged on October 29th 1945.

After the war, Mr. Molick returned home and married Audria L, and they started a family. He died on November 4th 1992 at the age of 70 years. He is buried at Lakeview Cemetery in Buhl, Minnesota.
