MOCKEY, John A.
John A. Mockey was born on June 11th 1920 to Frank & Helen [Sinko] in Chisholm, Minnesota.
Mr. Mockey was inducted into the Army on June 15th 1942, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Chisholm, Minnesota.
He served with the Medical Detachment of the 12th Infantry Regiment in Rhineland and Central Europe. He was wounded in action on November 24, 1944, in Germeton, Germany. He rose to the rank of Technician 4th Grade. (TEC4)
Mr. Mockey was awarded the following:
- Bronze Star Medal,
- Purple Heart,
- Good Conduct Medal,
- Combat Medical Badge,
- European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign with 2 bronze battle stars, -and-
- World War II Victory Medal.
He was honorably discharged November 3rd 1945, at Hospital Center, Camp Butner, North Carolina.
Mr. Mockey died on February 9th 1975 at the age of 54 years. He is buried at Calvary Cemetery in Chisholm.
