John A. Meller

John A. Meller served in World War II in the Pacific Theater. He served in the U.S. Navy from February 17, 1943, until April 5, 1946.

He trained at Naval Station Great Lakes and was assigned to Naval shore duty at Supply Depots 134 and 3205 in the South Pacific. His rank was Machinist 3rd Class.

Mr. Meller was born in 1923 to William and Eathel Meller in Bennett, Wisconsin.

Duty at New Guinea and 3 months in Australia. Was maintaining diesel power for freezer plant at Navy base 134. January 4, 1945, to end of war was salvaging and cleaning parts for shipment back to U.S.A. from the Admiralty Islands.
