DAVICH, John Louis
John Louis Davich was born on October 1st 1914 to Joseph J. & Felka [Butkovich] Davich in Hibbing, Minnesota.
Mr. Davich entered the U.S. Army on September 8th 1942 at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. He served as a remote control turret mechanic with the 3021st Army Air Forces Base Unit in the United States. He rose to the rank of Sergeant (SGT)
SGT Davich earned the following merits for his service:
- Good Conduct Medal,
- American Campaign Medal, -and-
- World War II Victory Medal.
He was honorably discharged February 11th 1946 at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin. After the war he returned home and married Felka [Butkovich] and they started a family.
Mr. Davich died on April 28th 1991 at the age of 76 years. He is buried at Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing.
