John "Jack" J., Sr. Hinzmann

John J. "Jack" Hinzmann, Sr. served during World War II in the European Theater in the U.S. Navy Armed Guard as a signalman from 1943 until 1946, crossing the Atlantic Ocean 14 times.

He was born in Duluth, Minnesota, on June 16, 1925, the son of Aloysius and Valeria Hinzmann. He graduated from Duluth Cathedral High School in 1943.

Mr. Hinzmann died at age 82 on October 24, 2008, in Duluth.
