John J. Stuntebeck entered the Army on April 20, 1944, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota.
He served as a Technician Fifth Grade and truck driver with Headquarters Company of the 61st Armored Infantry Battalion of the 10th Armored Division in Rhineland and Central Europe. He was wounded in action in the European Theater in April 1945.
Mr. Stuntebeck was awarded the following: Purple Heart, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with two bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal, Army of Occupation Medal (Germany), and two overseas service bars.
He was honorably discharged on June 5, 1946, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
