John J. Champa of Aurora, Minnesota was inducted into the Army Air Corps on April 20, 1942.
He was a sergeant and an airplane mechanic with the 519th Service Squadron, 31st Group, serving in northern France, Ardennes, the Rhineland and Central Europe.

European-African-Middle East Campaign Service Medal with four bronze battle stars,
American Campaign Service Medal,
World War II Victory Medal and four overseas service bars.
He was discharged on Nov. 3, 1945.
