John H. Larva of Toivola-Meadowlands, Minnesota enlisted in the Army on March 13, 1942.
He was a Technician 5th Grade with Company C in the 47th Armored Infantry Battalion in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe. He was wounded in action on September 20, 1944.
He received the: Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman Badge, Distinguished Unit Citation, Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle East Campaign Medal with six bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal and three overseas service bars.
He was honorably discharged on October 14, 1945 at Camp McCoy, Wis.
