John G. Gavin of Virginia, Minnesota was inducted into the Army on April 27, 1942 at Fort Snelling, Minn.
He served as a Technician 5th Grade and clerk with the 775th Ordnance Light Maintenance Company in Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe.
Mr. Gavin was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle East Campaign Medal, American Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal and two overseas service bars.
He was honorably discharged Feb. 11, 1946 at Camp McCoy, Wis.
