Mr. Smolich received the following: Presidential Unit Citation, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with six bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal, and three overseas service bars.
He was honorably discharged on October 26, 1945 in Sioux Falls, Iowa.
