Mr. Bryant inducted into the Army on April 15, 1943, at Fort Custer, Michigan.
He served as a Private First Class and paratroop rifleman with the 82nd Airborne Division in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe. He was wounded in action in Holland on September 30, 1944.
He received the following: Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman Badge, Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with three bronze battle stars, American Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, and two overseas service bars.
Mr. Bryant was honorably discharged on November 15, 1945, at Camp Ulysses S. Grant, Illinois.
