John Bertnick

Mr. Bertnick inducted into the Army April 27, 1941, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Chisholm, Minnesota.

He served as a Sergeant with the 34th Signal Company in Tunisia, North Africa; Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno, North Apennines, and Po Valley, Italy.

Awarded: Meritorious Unit Commendation, Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with five bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal, and six overseas service bars.

Mr. Bertnick was honorably discharged July 18, 1945, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota.
