John B. Harju of Eveleth, Minnesota, was inducted into the Army Air Corps on April 25, 1942 at Fort Snelling, Minn.
He served as a Staff sergeant and radio mechanic at Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron, 12th Tactical Air Command (Flight Section) in North Apennines, Rhineland and Central Europe.
Mr. Harju received the Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle East Campaign Medal, American Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal and two overseas service bars.
He was honorably discharged Dec. 27, 1945, Camp McCoy, Wis.
