Jesse Battle Jones enlisted in the Navy on November 15, 1939.
He was a Chief Pharmacist's Mate aboard the USS Griffin, the USS Harder, the USS Solace and at continental shore stations.
Mr. Jones received the: Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, American Defense Service Medal, American Campaign Medal and World War II Victory Medal.
He was discharged to reenlist in the Regular Navy in Norfolk, Virg.on November 30, 1945 He was discharged again on October 1, 1947.
After the war he served with the U.S. Air Force as a master sergeant in the continental U.S. and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.
He retired from the Air Force on June 30, 1964.
