James W. Green

James W. Green entered the Army on August 5, 1942, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Hibbing, Minnesota.
He served as a Private First Class and Communications Chief with Company I, 15th Infantry in Rhineland and Central Europe. Attended the School of Radio and Wire Communications, which he completed May 1943.
While with the 70th Infantry Division, the Division was commanded by Major General F. W. Milburn on the capture of Forbach, Styring Wendal and Saarbrucken and on the crossing of the Saar River on the combat efforts and the successful completion of the mission.
Mr. Green was awarded the following: Bronze Star Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle East Campaign Medal with two bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal and one overseas service bar.
Mr. Green was honorably discharged November 19, 1945, at Camp McCoy, Wisc.
