James V. Trotto enlisted in the Naval Reserve July 16, 1942.
Mr. Trotto attended the Midshipman school at Columbia University in N.Y., sub-chaser school, and amphibious training. He was commissioned Lieutenant and served as the administrative officer aboard the USS Sturdy and USS LSM 235 in the European and Pacific Theaters. He was wounded in action.
He was awarded the following: Silver Star Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, and Philippine Liberation Medal with two bronze stars.
Mr. Trotto was relieved from active duty on January 6, 1946.
