James Martin Masterson

James Martin Masterson served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
On June 10, 1945 he was honorably discharged after surviving the sinking of his ship the USS William D. Porter. The ship went down off the coast of Okinawa.
He was born on May 12, 1922 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Hugh and Bessie Masterson. He was raised in Mitchell, Minnesota and later graduated from Hibbing High School in 1940. He attended the University of Minnesota Duluth and graduated with a Associate Degree in engineering.
On July 5, 2007 he died in Duluth, Minnesota.
