James L. Downing

James L. Downing enlisted in the Naval Reserve August 28, 1942 at Eveleth, Minn.

He served as a Fire Controlman 2nd Class with Battery 408 at the Naval Air Station in Attu, Alaska and aboard the battleship USS West Virginia (BB 48) in the continental U.S.

Mr. Downing was awarded the Good Conduct Medal.

He was honorably discharged January 8, 1946, Minneapolis, Minn.
