FRANKLIN, James Ivan

James Ivan Franklin was born on September 10th 1905 n Spencer, Indiana. Before WWII, he married Freida Johanna [Albrecht] on September 4th 1928 in Minnesota and they had a family.

Mr. Franklin enlisted in the Naval Reserve October 30th 1943 during WWII when he was living in Hibbing, Minnesota. He served as a Machinist's Mate 1st Class (MM1c) with the U.S. Navy Seabees.

MM1c Franklin received a honorary disability discharge on September 28th 1945, at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Corona, California.

After the war he returned home to Hibbing. Mr. Franklin and his son were tragically killed in a car accident on May 28th 1949. Both are buried at Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing.
