James H. McAuliffe

James H. McAuliffe of Duluth, Minnesota enlisted in the Army on October 29, 1947.
He was a Sergeant and was stationed in Japan, first working with a unit that organized the military mail system there in the chaos following the war. He was later assigned to a Calvary unit that guarded Japanese prisoners of war. After his service, McAuliffe returned to Marquette and in 1948 moved to Duluth and earned his degree at the University of Minnesota-Duluth.
He worked for the Petrolle’s Religious Goods store from 1951 to 1970, when he bought the store.
He sold it when he retired in 1995.
