James Edward Bartl

James Edward Bartl

Mr. Bartl served in World War II in the Pacific Theater.

He served in the U.S. Navy from March 1945 until October 1948. He was assigned to the USS Tulagi (CVE-72).

His rank was Gunners Mate Third Class.

Mr. Bartl was decorated with the following: Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign, World War II Victory Medal, Philippine Liberation Medal, Philippine Defense Medal, Philippine Independence Medal, and Occupation Medal.

Mr. Bartl was born in 1927 in Duluth, Minnesota, the son of Edward and Laura Bartl. He graduated from high school in 1945.
